I met the GAA at the Department's offices on 14 October. In the course of the meeting we discussed the national stadium project and the proposals which the organisation has for the completion of the redevelopment of Croke Park.
As I indicated to the House at Question Time on 18 November, I am awaiting additional information from the IRFU with regard to the joint FAI-IRFU proposals for stadium facilities, which I expect to have by the end of this month. When this material is available I will consult my Cabinet colleagues and then bring proposals to Government to deal with the acknowledged need for additional stadium accommodation. Until the Government has reached a decision on these proposals, I do not intend to make any further policy statements on this matter.
