Vol. 575 No. 5

Written Answers. - Driving Licences.

Mary Upton

Ceist:

151 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Transport if he will examine the driving licences held by a person, details supplied, in Dublin 12; if he will provide a detailed account of the licences this person has held; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28665/03]

Under the Road Traffic Act 1961 and the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations 1999 to 2001, it is a matter for the appropriate licensing authority, in this case Dublin City Council, to determine the eligibility of a person for a driving licence, and to issue licences.

I understand that the person concerned currently holds a driving licence in categories B, EB, C1, EC1 and W and that he did not hold a category D1 or D driving licence at any time.
