Vol. 576 No. 1

Written Answers. - Road Network.

John Curran

Ceist:

266 Mr. Curran asked the Minister for Transport the details of the new proposed flyover connecting Monastery Road, Clondalkin, to the new Luas depot at the Red Cow roundabout; the costs involved; when he envisages the project to commence and finish; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28829/03]

The planning and design of the national roads development projects is a matter for the National Roads Authority and the relevant local authority. The NRA is preparing plans for the upgrading of the M50 as well as upgrading of the major junctions, including the N7-M50 junction or Red Cow. As part of these plans access to the Luas park and ride will be considered. The scope and extent of the upgrade and the programming of the work involved is a matter for the NRA and the local authority having regard to the funding available for the national roads programme.
