Vol. 576 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

301 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department, the Courts Service or the Legal Aid Board has vacancies of clerical officer with typing located in County Meath; if so, the locations of such positions; and if there are vacancies at present. [29146/03]

I can inform the Deputy that there are no vacancies in County Meath for the position of clerical officer (typist) in my Department. All clerical officer vacancies in respect of provincial locations are filled from the central transfer list. There are currently no vacancies for clerical officer, typists, in the Legal Aid Board's office in Navan.

Under the Courts Service Act 1998, the Courts Service is independent in the performance of its functions, which include the management of the courts. The recruitment and deployment of Courts Service staff is a matter for the Courts Service.
