331 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs when a decision will be made on an application by a school (details supplied) in County Roscommon for funding for developing a hard play area and playground; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28919/03]
I intend to introduce a measure under the CLÁR programme for the enhancement of school play facilities in small rural schools in CLÁR areas. In anticipation of this, I asked the Leader programme companies to co-ordinate returns from schools in their areas to ascertain the level of interest in the proposed measure. I hope to implement the measure early in 2004 when the school referred to by the Deputy will be considered for grant aid.
