390 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his plans or proposals under consideration in relation to the erection of a perimeter wall or fence and gates at Beladd Park, Portlaoise, County Laois; and his overall plans regarding the future use of Beladd Park. [29826/03]
Work will be carried out to improve security in the vicinity of that portion of the Midlands Prison boundary which adjoins the Beladd Park estate to prevent further incursions in the area by persons throwing contraband over the prison wall. This work will take place following the departure of the small number of remaining residents from Beladd Park at the end of this year.
In relation to the future use of the houses, I have yet to make a final decision on the use to which they may be put. However, I can advise the Deputy that disposal of the property is not in contemplation at this juncture.
