Council Regulations: Referral to Joint Committee.

I move:

That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the exercise by the State of the options:

(i) provided by Article 4 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the Council and the Commission that it wishes to accept the following measure:

Council Regulation (EC) No. 333/2002 of 18th February, 2002, on a uniform format for forms for affixing the visa issued by Member States to persons holding travel documents not recognised by the Member State drawing up the form,

(ii) provided by Article 4 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the Council and the Commission that it wishes to accept the following measure:

Council Regulation (EC) No. 334/2002 of 18th February, 2002, amending Regulation (EC) No. 1683/95 laying down a uniform format for visas,

(iii) provided by Article 3 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council that it wishes to take part in the adoption and application of the following measure:

a proposal for a Council Regulation amending Regulation (EC) 1683/95 laying down a uniform format for visas,

(iv) provided by Article 3 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council that it wishes to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

a proposal for a Council Regulation amending Regulation (EC) 1030/2002 laying down a uniform format for residence permits for third-country nationals,

(v) provided by Article 4 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the Council and the Commission that it wishes to accept the following measure:

Council Regulation (EC) No. 1030/2002 of 13th June, 2002, laying down a uniform format for residence permits for third-country nationals,

copies of which measures were laid before Dáil Éireann on 11th November, 2003, be referred to the Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Womens Rights in accordance with paragraph (2) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which, not later than 18th December, 2003, shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.
