Vol. 577 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Seán Haughey

Ceist:

570 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the grant schemes administered by his Department; if any of these grant schemes can be utilised by a scout group wishing to refurbish its den; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31229/03]

I refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 346, 348 and 351 of 12 February last, in which I detailed the various grant schemes operated by my Department. While my Department has no specific funding arrangements in place to cater for scout den refurbishment, such funding may be considered through local Leader groups, provided the scout group is within the Leader operational area. Decisions on eligibility are made by the Leader groups in accordance with detailed operating rules drawn up by my Department and approved by the European Commission. Proposals are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Such funding might also be considered under the Gaeltacht grant schemes, provided the scout group in question is based in the Gaeltacht.

Question No. 571 answered with Question No. 567.
