Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Finian McGrath — to ask the Minister about the new proposal "Preparing for Life", a plan to enable children to be ready for school, and the urgent need to tackle educational disadvantage; (2) Deputies Howlin and Broughan — the serious implications for labour relations and the future of social partnership as well as the future of the maritime sector in Ireland of the plan by Irish Ferries to seek the redundancy of 543 Irish staff; (3) Deputy Crowe — the necessity for the Minister to address the bullying of staff in Irish Ferries into taking "voluntary redundancy" and to send a clear signal that this type of behaviour is unacceptable; (4) Deputy Morgan — that the Minister amend the industrial relations Acts in respect of the definition of employee in light of allegations of competition law being mischievously used to attack the rights of certain workers; (5) Deputy McGinley — to ask the Minister his plans to replace the 570 jobs being lost at Hospira, Donegal Town; (6) Deputy Healy — the need for the Minister to implement the High Court agreement for the provision of hospital services at Cashel and Clonmel, County Tipperary; (7) Deputy Hogan — to ask the Minister his views in respect of the application made to Waterford City Council to extend its administrative boundary into an area currently under the jurisdiction of Kilkenny County Council; (8) Deputy Catherine Murphy — to ask the Minister regarding the practice of local authorities making mandatory the establishment of estate management companies to maintain the public areas and facilities in new housing developments; (9) Deputy Neville — to ask the Minister regarding "A better future now", the position statement made by the Irish College of Psychiatrists on psychiatric services for children and adolescents in Ireland; (10) Deputy O'Dowd — to call on the Minister to reinstate the hearing clinic in Drogheda; (11) Deputy Deenihan — to ask the Minister if he will provide the funding to proceed with the appointment of a full time cardiologist at Kerry General Hospital; and (12) Deputy Cowley — to ask the Minister the reason she has failed to deliver on a promise made in reply to a parliamentary question to this Deputy on 14 June 2005.

The matters raised by Deputies Deenihan, McGinley, Finian McGrath and Catherine Murphy have been selected for discussion and will be taken at the conclusion of business.
