I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Kirk — the need for a reappraisal of the acute staffing problems in certain areas of the health service in the north east; (2) Deputy Pat Breen — the provision of a six slice CT scanner for Ennis General Hospital; (3) Deputy Cowley — the shortage of beds in Beaumont Hospital to accommodate persons awaiting brain surgery; (4) Deputies Ellis and Finneran — the decision of Glanbia Meats to cease production at its meat canning business at Rooskey, County Roscommon; (5) Deputy Cuffe — the need to debate the High Court decision recognising the rights of Irish-born children prior to any decision being made by Government to appeal that decision to the Supreme Court; (6) Deputy O'Dowd — to ask the Minister to carry out an immediate investigation into why certain individuals who formerly had responsibility for inspections at the disgraced Leas Cross nursing home are now contracted by the HSE to provide a private nursing home inspection service; (7) Deputy Timmins — the need for a national emergency planning agency in view of potential terrorist attacks; (8) Deputy Deenihan — the refusal by the Royal College of Surgeons to accept cervical smears from general practitioners in Kerry; (9) Deputy Neville — the position regarding Athea national school; (10) Deputy Stanton — to ask the Minister to debate the matter of the reported closure of Couristan Carpets in Youghal, County Cork, with the loss of over 80 jobs, and the need for the Government and State agencies to redouble their efforts to secure increased enterprise and employment in Youghal as a matter of urgency; (11) Deputy Crowe — the absolute necessity for the Minister to make public her strategy for children's hospital services in the Dublin area; (12) Deputy Broughan — the need to debate the recently published report "The Nature and Impact of Joy-Riding in Priorswood"; (13) Deputy O'Connor — to ask the Minister to make a clear statement regarding plans for the future delivery of children's hospital services in the Dublin region following the decision in respect of the Mater site, and to ask her to confirm the schedule being followed in respect of the plans; and (14) Deputy Fiona O'Malley — in this, Science Week, to discuss the role science will play in Ireland's future economic growth.
