Vol. 639 No. 5

Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 32.

Before coming to the Order of Business, I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 32.

I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the delay by the HSE in intervening to allow a number of people access to vital services at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children and, in particular, to examine the policy that prevents a 12 year old girl access to hospital care to allow her to undergo a vital operation, given that she has been waiting for over six months.

I wish to seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, to discuss the failure of the Minister for Health and Children to accept responsibility to this House for the fact that home help has been refused to people on the basis that it is no longer being provided although it is still advised to be available in Government literature; and further the fact that home help has been removed from a seriously handicapped person who has had this valuable service for ten years, which service was removed by way of a curt phone call from the HSE.

Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 32.

Have you a notice from me?

No, unfortunately.
