Vol. 654 No. 1

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Denis Naughten — the need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline her plans for the provision of acute medical and surgical care of the people of counties Roscommon, Galway, Westmeath, Longford, Leitrim and Offaly, following the HSE decision to close the inpatient surgery and accident and emergency departments at Roscommon County Hospital and transfer them to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, on an interim basis; (2) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — the closure of Tralee refugee support services drop-in centre, 7 Ashe Street, Tralee, County Kerry, because of the failure of the office of the Minister for integration to approve the necessary funding to continue the very essential services provided by the centre, mostly on a voluntary basis; (3) Deputy Seán Barrett — the need to address the waiting times in the Dublin area for children who require speech and language therapy services; (4) Deputy Shane McEntee — the Government's policy on incineration, the different methods by which our waste is disposed of and its possible effect on people's health; (5) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd — to ask the Minister for Education and Science to discuss the progress to date regarding the Le Chéile Educate Together national school, Mornington Road, Drogheda, County Meath; (6) Deputy Andrew Doyle — the need to address the issue of dog breeding establishment regulations; (7) Deputy Tom Sheahan — will the Minister confirm that he is about to rush through a by-law preventing the draft fishermen of Cromane, County Kerry, from fishing? Will he make a statement on the matter?; (8) Deputy Seymour Crawford — the need to address the situation in Monaghan General Hospital; and (9) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — the need to address the crisis in child protection.

The matters raised by Deputies Barrett, Crawford, Ó Caoláin and Doyle have been selected for discussion.
