I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Joan Burton — the withdrawal of English language support teachers from Mary Mother of Hope Senior School, Littlepace, Clonee, Dublin 15; (2) Deputy Pat Breen — the future of the newly refurbished dementia unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ennis and the need for the Minister for Health and Children to lift the moratorium on employment in the public service to allow for the filling of the positions required so this facility can open immediately; (3) Deputy Shane McEntee — the dramatic impact of the withdrawal of the EirGrid planning application for a 58 km 400kV power line between Woodland, County Meath and Kingscourt, County Cavan on the oral public hearing process, the company having spent almost €20 million preparing it over a three-year period; (4) Deputy Leo Varadkar — the need for the Minister for Health and Children to account to the House for the HSE decision to impose funding cuts of almost 10% on the Daughters of Charity in north-east Dublin, which will result in the closure of respite care, day school, summer camp and other services for the intellectually disabled, and the need for the Minister to mediate between the HSE and Daughters of Charity to agree a service plan for the rest of the year that does not require such cuts to be made; (5) Deputy Dan Neville — the increase of 25% in suicide in 2009; (6) Deputy Seán Sherlock — the need to ensure the capacity to deliver acute services at Mallow General Hospital is not undermined under the reconfiguration process; (7) Deputy Martin Ferris — the HSE proposal to cut night cover at almost half of its 15 ambulance bases in counties Cork and Kerry; (8) Deputy Joe Costello — the need for the Minister for Health and Children to explain why so many applications for renewal of medical cards are being refused under the new system, particularly in the Dublin Central constituency; and (9) Deputy James Bannon — the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation to urgently provide an industrial strategy for the midlands, in the light of the closure of another key company in County Longford, with the associated loss of more than 100 jobs, to the detriment of the socioeconomic recovery of the region and the future industrial and commercial profile of Longford town and surrounding areas.
