Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Arthur Spring - proposed cuts to family resource centres; (2) Deputy Kevin Humphreys - the need to address delays in the processing of applications for carer's allowance; (3) Deputy Simon Harris - the ongoing situation in Syria; (4) Deputy Patrick O'Donovan - the need to consider seeking out a well-known personality to head up a campaign to tackle obesity in order to combat diabetes; (5) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the shortage in the resources provided to the Garda in rural areas to tackle crime; (6) Deputies Aengus Ó Snodaigh and Joan Collins - the need to provide suitable alternative local drug treatment facilities in Ballyfermot, Dublin; (7) Deputy Brian Stanley - the need for the Industrial Development Agency to attract investments and jobs to the midlands; (8) Deputy Michael Healy-Rae - the need to initiate a cull of seals; (9) Deputy Anne Ferris - the need to advertise the fact that people can continue to use their medical cards with GPs and pharmacists while waiting for new cards to be issued; (10) Deputy Michael McNamara - the Limerick northern distributor road; (11) Deputy Derek Keating - the need to maintain funding to drug task force services; (12) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the need to ensure adequate resources are provided to community employment schemes run by the Galway centre for independent living; (13) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - the need to resolve the problems faced by residents of Priory Hall, Dublin; (14) Deputy Noel Harrington - the status and intended timetable for completion of the Bantry bypass, County Cork; (15) Deputy Martin Ferris - the criteria for awarding contracts by State companies; (16) Deputy Seamus Healy - the reason that advertisements have been placed in local newspapers seeking to lease property in Clonmel, Mullingar and Cavan for use by the Reserve Defence Force; (17) Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin - the process to expunge the criminal records of all persons convicted and detained as minors within residential institutions; (18) Deputy John Lyons - marriage equality in the context of the upcoming constitutional convention; (19) Deputy Clare Daly - the proposed sale of State assets; (20) Deputy Michael Lowry - the funding being provided by the State to Aiséirí treatment centres; (21) Deputy Timmy Dooley - the financial problems being faced by many county councils; (22) Deputy Mick Wallace - the imminent closure of community employment schemes at Ferns, Tagoat and Grantstown, County Wexford; (23) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - the application for a foreshore licence in Dublin Bay by Providence Resources; (24) Deputy Robert Troy - issues relating to the closure of Columb Barracks, Mullingar, County Westmeath; and (25) Deputy Dessie Ellis - the abolition of the Dublin fire fighters panel.

The matters raised by Deputies Kevin Humphreys, Aengus Ó Snodaigh and Joan Collins, Patrick O'Donovan and Noel Harrington have been selected for discussion.
