Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Pat Deering - concerns regarding the location of pylons for EirGrid 25; (2) Deputy Ann Phelan - concerns regarding the location of pylons for EirGrid 25; (3) Deputies Paudie Coffey and Charles Flanagan - the need to adequately resource the senior alert scheme; (4) Deputy Marcella Corcoran Kennedy - the threat to manufacturing jobs at EJ (Cavanaghs) in Birr, County Offaly; (5) Deputy Jim Daly - the JobBridge scheme and job vacancies in the primary school sector; (6) Deputy Catherine Murphy - proposals put forward to dispose of IBRC loan books in four segmented tranches; (7) Deputy Kevin Humphreys - the transfer of information on flood protection works to insurance companies; (8) Deputy Joan Collins - the need for a bilateral agreement with Egypt to return Faris Daniel Heeney to Ireland; (9) Deputy Michael McGrath - the impact of changes to the one parent tax credit; (10) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the need to automatically issue a medical card to protect children receiving palliative care; (11) Deputy Eamonn Maloney - the need for further analysis of voluntary contributions in schools; (12) Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin - the need to discuss the ESRI report on school voluntary contributions; (13) Deputy Martin Ferris - an incident involving an infant in Bons Secours Hospital, Cork, last month; (14) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the need to establish a formal agreement process whereby Irish and international auctioneers and valuers commit to not engage in selling repossessed family homes or businesses or homes or businesses in dispute along the lines of the model agreement recently secured by the Irish Mortgage Holders Association; (15) Deputy Clare Daly - the problems for subcontractors when the main contractor gets into financial difficulties; (16) Deputy Mick Wallace - the problems facing subcontractors when the main contractor runs into financial difficulty; (17) Deputy Robert Troy - the economic and social impact of introducing electronic payments for welfare payments; and (18) Deputy Dessie Ellis - the need to supply GPS enabled beacons for sufferers of dementia and similar disorders.

The matters raised by Deputies Paudie Coffey and Charles Flanagan; Deputy Catherine Murphy; Deputy Kevin Humphreys; and Deputy Robert Troy have been selected for discussion.
