Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Jim Daly - the JobBridge scheme and job vacancies in the primary school sector; (2) Deputy Michelle Mulherin - the need for Eirgrid to place electricity power lines underground on the Grid West project in sensitive areas along the transmission line corridor; (3) Deputy Michael Colreavy - the upgrading of the N4 between Castlebaldwin and Cloonamahon; (4) Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan - the redress payments to survivors of Magdalen laundries; (5) Deputy Marcella Corcoran Kennedy - the threat to manufacturing jobs at EJ Cavanaghs in Birr, County Offaly; (6) Deputy Joan Collins - the need for a bilateral agreement with Egypt to return Faris Daniel Heeney to Ireland; (7) Deputy Joe Higgins - the need for a bilateral agreement with the authorities in Egypt in order for Faris Daniel Heeney to return; (8) Deputy Anne Ferris - the ongoing delays to the Bray flood works and the consequences for the project programme; (9) Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin - the need to establish an independent inquiry into the two incidents of Roma children being taken into care; (10) Deputy Gerry Adams - the report into collusion in the bomb attacks in Dublin and Monaghan and at Kay's Tavern, Dundalk; (11) Deputy Clare Daly - the removal of two Roma children from their families; (12) Deputy Mick Wallace - the removal of two Roma children from their families; (13) Deputy Martin Heydon - the need for meaningful engagement by Eirgrid with communities that have real concerns about the proposed Gridlink routes; (14) Deputy Barry Cowen - the proposed sale of ESB power stations; (15) Deputy Paudie Coffey - the need for Eirgrid to engage meaningfully with communities that have real concerns about the proposed Gridlink routes; (16) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin - the removal of two Roma children from their families; (17) Deputy John Paul Phelan - the need for full engagement by Eirgrid on all options under consideration with communities that have concerns about the proposed Gridlink project routes; (18) Deputy Pat Deering - the need for meaningful engagement by Eirgrid with communities that have real concerns about the proposed Gridlink routes; (19) Deputy Brendan Smith - the alleged surveillance of Government and civilian communications in Ireland and Europe by US authorities; (20) Deputy Billy Timmins - the removal of two Roma children from their families; (21) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the need to establish a formal agreement process whereby Irish and international auctioneers and valuers commit to not engage in selling repossessed family homes or businesses; (22) Deputy Ann Phelan - the need for meaningful engagement by Eirgrid with communities that have real concerns about the proposed Gridlink routes; and (23) Deputy Denis Naughten - the need to report on the Roma children.

The matters raised by Deputies Jim Daly; Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, Clare Daly, Denis Naughten, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin, Billy Timmins and Mick Wallace; Marcella Corcoran Kennedy; and Barry Cowen have been selected for discussion.
