Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Terence Flanagan - the need for adequate funding to prevent the closure of Kilbarrack Youth Project; (2) Deputy Derek Nolan - the doubling of the carbon tax on solid fuel; (3) Deputy Michael McCarthy - the penalties facing farmers following the review of 900,000 land parcels; (4) Deputy Marcella Corcoran Kennedy - the need to make it easier for members of the public to engage in the public consultation process; (5) Deputy Jonathan O'Brien - the increasing difficulty persons in receipt of rent allowance are having in locating accommodation; (6) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the provision of access to Xolair, medication for severe asthma, to patients in Cork University Hospital; (7) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - the plans for universal health insurance; (8) Deputy Seán Crowe - the passing of the anti-gay Bill into law in Uganda; (9) Deputy Jim Daly - the need to allocate capital funding to upgrade the N71 access route to west Cork; (10) Deputy Brian Stanley - the tendering out of the local community development programme; (11) Deputy Joe Higgins - the proposal to close Scoil Mhuire Fatima, North Monastery, Cork; (12) Deputy Pat Deering - the closure of the Kepak sheep processing facility in Hacketstown, County Carlow; (13) Deputy Seán Kyne - the closure of many small quarries located within or near a designated site; (14) Deputy Catherine Murphy - the distress and expense caused to discretionary medical card holders who are selected for a review before the expiration of their medical card; (15) Deputy Mick Wallace - the implementation of the free GP-care scheme for children aged under six; (16) Deputy Jerry Buttimer - the passing of the anti-gay Bill into law in Uganda; (17) Deputy Dessie Ellis - the decision by the Convention on the Constitution to support the inclusion of a right to housing in Bunreacht na hÉireann; (18) Deputy Clare Daly - the implementation of free GP care for children aged under six; (19) Deputy Thomas P; Broughan - the offshore renewable energy development plan and its implications for the future of renewable energy provision in the State; and (20) Deputy Eoghan Murphy - the increase in demand for primary school places in September 2014 in Dublin South East.

The matters raised by Deputies Marcella Corcoran Kennedy, Michael McCarthy, Jim Daly and Thomas P. Broughan have been selected for discussion.
