Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Paul J. Connaughton - concerns about the use of compulsory purchase orders on the Dublin to Galway greenway; (2) Deputy Terence Flanagan - the processing of medical card applications in the primary care reimbursement service; (3) Deputy Lucinda Creighton - the need to intervene to ensure an equitable solution to the ongoing Irish airlines superannuation scheme dispute; (4) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin - the position on the appeal for the reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (5) Deputy Sean Fleming - that public health dentists have been told to prioritise older over younger children; (6) Deputy Billy Timmins - the way in which funding for greenways was allocated in May 2014; (7) Deputy Robert Dowds - the need for legal measures to tackle the problem of graffiti in the greater Dublin area; (8) Deputy Peadar Tóibín - the need to compel fuel companies in Ireland to pass on the reduction in international oil prices to the consumer and enterprise; (9) Deputy Finian McGrath - the position on the appeal for a reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (10) Deputy Brian Stanley - the need to support autism services in County Laois; (11) Deputy Martin Heydon - the need for funding to progress the N7 upgrade; (12) Deputy Michael McGrath - the loss of routes and reduction in services at Cork Airport; (13) Deputy Michael McNamara - tree felling by the National Roads Authority along the M7; (14) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - the need for the officially agreed terms and conditions for future fixed period promotions for the members of the ninth potential officer class to be adhered to; (15) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the proposals Teagasc has for its research station at Athenry, County Galway; (16) Deputy Dominic Hannigan - the need to include chartered engineers in the list of witnesses who can sign section 7 of a passport application; (17) Deputy Anthony Lawlor - the need to provide funding to progress the N7 upgrade, Osberstown interchange and the Sallins bypass, to construction stage; (18) Deputy Seamus Healy - the need to ensure the continuation of the existing Medite Europe defined benefit pensions scheme with unaltered scheme conditions; (19) Deputy Noel Harrington - the future source of funding for community development under SICAP for the non-Gaeltacht inhabited islands of Hare, Bere, Whiddy, Sherkin, Long, Dursey, Inishbofin, Inishturk and Clare; (20) Deputy Joe Costello - the need to address the disparity in the treatment of pensioners in the public and private sectors under the universal social charge; (21) Deputy Dara Calleary - the concerns about standards of care at Áras Attracta, Swinford, County Mayo; (22) Deputy Martin Ferris - the proposed refurbishment of Castlegregory national school; (23) Deputy Charlie McConalogue - the need to address the under-representation of women in senior academic positions in virtually all of the country's third level institutions; (24) Deputy Colm Keaveney - the way in which the Health Service Executive recruits psychologists; (25) Deputy Paul Murphy - the recent rise in public transport fares; (26) Deputy Eamonn Maloney - the need for a balanced approach in restructuring credit unions; (27) Deputy Barry Cowen - reports on the dismissal of expert advice in the allocation of funds for greenway projects; (28) Deputy Michael Lowry - the need for intervention to secure a replacement industry for the Lisheen mine site, County Tipperary; (29) Deputy Seamus Kirk - the changes required following publication of the HIQA ambulance service review; (30) Deputy Joe Carey - the need to provide the lower Ennis flood relief scheme in County Clare; (31) Deputy Ruth Coppinger - the strike by post-primary teachers; (32) Deputy Alan Farrell - the need to ensure waste collection companies tender for local area contracts; (33) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the loss of routes and reduction in services at Cork Airport; (34) Deputy Peter Mathews - the need to intervene to secure deferred pensions for members of the Irish airlines superannuation scheme; and (35) Deputy John Lyons - the Central Bank's mortgage proposals and the difficulties they present for first-time home buyers.
