Personal Insolvency (Amendment) Bill 2014: Instruction to Committee

I move:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 131(2), it be an instruction to the Committee to which the Personal Insolvency (Amendment) Bill 2014 may be recommitted in respect of certain amendments, that it has power to make provision in the Bill:

(a) in relation to the functions of the Insolvency Service of Ireland regarding information and analysis, and regarding supervision of personal insolvency practitioners and the appointment of Authorised Officers;

(b) in relation to expanding the eligibility criteria for a Debt Relief Notice or a Personal Insolvency Arrangement; and

(c) for a review by the Courts, subject to certain conditions, where a debtor’s proposal for a Personal Insolvency Arrangement is rejected by creditors;

and for consequential amendments, including the commencement of the Bill and amendment of the Long Title to reflect the content of the Bill.”
