Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Derek Nolan - the need to include Galway city in the housing package measures to increase housing supply; (2) Deputy Jim Daly - the need to control the spread of knotweed and other invasive non-native species; (3) Deputy Bernard J. Durkan - the need to address the stalled works at the town centre developments in Naas, County Kildare; (4) Deputy Ruth Coppinger - the need to progress with building work in St. Mochta's national school, Clonsilla, and St. Patrick's national schools, Corduff, Dublin 15; (5) Deputy Joan Collins - the need to discuss the recent meeting with Respond regarding the threatened closure of Cuan Álainn women's refuge centre, Dublin 24; (6) Deputy Joe Costello - the need to provide the necessary resources to Cabra Garda station, Dublin 7, for a comprehensive policing service for the community; (7) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - the need to address issues raised in the report from the Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs on the serious drought situation in Ethiopia; (8) Deputy Paul Murphy - the need to discuss the strike action at Irish Life Assurance in Dublin and Dundalk, County Louth; (9) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the need to commission an updated sexual abuse and violence in Ireland report; (10) Deputy Mick Wallace - the need for a Government review of the US military use of Shannon Airport; (11) Deputy Lucinda Creighton - the need to address the leaking of sensitive information into ongoing criminal investigations by An Garda Síochána to certain media outlets; (12) Deputy Clare Daly - the need to discuss the implications of the lack of female voices in broadcasting and ways to address this; (13) Deputy Alan Shatter - the need to address the delay in commencing operation of the DNA database; and (14) Deputy Helen McEntee - the need for funding for six children in County Meath unable to avail of additional preschool support. The matters raised by Deputies Helen McEntee, Billy Kelleher, Derek Nolan and Ruth Coppinger have been selected for discussion.
