Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Ruth Coppinger and Joan Burton - the status of building work at St. Mochta's national school, Clonsilla; (2) Deputies Brendan Smith and Declan Breathnach - the need to clarify the level of funding and when it will be provided for PEACE IV and INTERREG commitments and to implement the programme as agreed between the Irish and British Governments and the EU Commission; (3) Deputy Bernard J. Durkan - to address the issue of delays with the development of the town centre at Naas; (4) Deputy Maurice Quinlivan - the delay in opening the new accident and emergency department at Limerick University Hospital in Dooradoyle; (5) Deputy Seán Haughey - the provision of a new emergency department in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9, as outlined in the programme for a partnership Government; (6) Deputies Róisín Shortall, Joan Collins, Billy Kelleher and Thomas Pringle - the need to ensure monetary recognition for the 36-week nursing-midwifery internship from 2011 onwards; (7) Deputy Martin Heydon - the need for a GP training programme in County Kildare; (8) Deputy Brian Stanley - the need to retain services at the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise; (9) Deputy Dara Calleary - the need for an insurance scheme for communities affected by flooding; (10) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the continuing humanitarian situation in Aleppo; (11) Deputies Mick Wallace and Clare Daly - to discuss the refugee resettlement programme in Ireland; (12) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - the funding of home help; (13) Deputy Bríd Smith - Traveller accommodation in County Louth; and (14) Deputy Pat Buckley - allegations of historical abuse at a Clonmel mental hospital.

The matters raised by Deputies Ruth Coppinger, Joan Burton, Brendan Smith, Declan Breathnach, Bernard J. Durkan and Bríd Smith have been selected for discussion.
