Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 29A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Jim O'Callaghan - the need to improve road safety for cyclists in Dublin; (2) Deputy Tom Neville - to discuss the issue of a sewerage scheme in Askeaton, Limerick; (3) Deputy Mary Butler - to discuss the unique south-eastern model in residential care homes; (4) Deputy Joan Burton - to discuss the future of the two RTÉ orchestras; (5) Deputies John Lahart and John Curran - to discuss the ongoing traffic congestion on the M50; (6) Deputies Éamon Ó Cuív, Clare Daly, Maureen O'Sullivan and Mick Wallace - to discuss the circumstances surrounding the detention of Mr. Tony Taylor in prison; (7) Deputy Eamon Scanlon - to discuss the provision of a catheterisation laboratory at Sligo University Hospital; (8) Deputies Anne Rabbitte, James Browne, Martin Ferris, Pat Buckley and Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire - to discuss the need to improve child adolescent mental health services; (9) Deputy Brian Stanley - to discuss with the Minister the progress toward developing facilities at Kolbe House in County Laois; (10) Deputy Maurice Quinlivan - to ask the Minister for Health to discuss staffing issues at University Hospital Limerick, and in particular concerns that have been raised about interns working unsupervised; (11) Deputies Imelda Munster and John Brady - the matter of the transfer of SPSV licences to nominated persons in the event of the licenceholder's death; (12) Deputy Carol Nolan - to discuss the issues raised in a Newstalk feature on rural crime in the Laois-Offaly area, the threat to property and the physical safety of rural dwellers, farmers and business people and to discuss the limitations of the rural CCTV scheme as an effective intervention; (13) Deputies Marc MacSharry and Tony McLoughlin - to discuss the withdrawal of tourist boat access to Inishmurray island, County Sligo; (14) Deputy James Lawless - concerns on the lack of any social media regulation approaching the referendum; (15) Deputies Stephen S. Donnelly, John Brassil and Lisa Chambers - the need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the conduct of the CervicalCheck screening service; (16) Deputy Seán Crowe - to discuss the severe lack of capacity in the haemorrhage dialysis unit in Tallaght Hospital and the critical shortage of high dependency dialysis in the region; (17) Deputies Jackie Cahill and Mattie McGrath - the need to address the problem of non-payment of subcontractors on various projects throughout the State; (18) Deputy Michael McGrath - to ask the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government to provide an update on the operation of the Rebuilding Ireland home loan scheme including the current expected demand for the scheme and if he will make a statement on the matter; (19) Deputy Peter Burke - that the Minister for Health would provide an update into the practices of the HSE holding patients in nursing homes while a ward of court process is being adjudicated; (20) Deputy Ruth Coppinger - the future ethos of the National Maternity Hospital; and (21) Deputies Richard Boyd Barrett and Bríd Smith - the new housing figures.

The matters raised by Deputies Jim O'Callaghan, Marc MacSharry and Tony McLoughlin, Anne Rabbitte, James Browne, Martin Ferris, Pat Buckley and Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire have been selected for discussion.
