In relation to today’s business, it is proposed that, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, the only business to be taken shall be the business as set out in the first revised Report of the Business Committee dated 15 April 2020, with no Questions on Promised Legislation.
Item No. 4, statements on Covid-19, including questions and answers to the Taoiseach, the Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance, shall conclude within four hours and 55 minutes. The first round shall consist of statements by the Taoiseach, a Minister or a Minister of State and the main spokespersons for parties and groups, or a member nominated in their stead, not exceeding five minutes each. Following the first round, there shall be three rounds of questions and answers, the first with the Taoiseach, the second with the Minister for Health and the third with the Minister for Finance, to include social protection. The first round of questions and answers, which shall be with the Taoiseach, shall not exceed 70 minutes and each party or group shall have seven minutes. The second round of questions and answers, which shall be with the Minister for Health, shall not exceed one hour and 40 minutes and each party or group shall have ten minutes. The third round of questions and answers, which shall be with the Minister for Finance, shall not exceed 70 minutes and each party or group shall have seven minutes. A question or an answer shall not exceed one minute each. A Minister or Minister of State may make a concluding statement which shall not exceed five minutes.
The Dáil shall adjourn on the conclusion of statements on Covid-19, including questions and answers to the Taoiseach, the Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance, and shall reconvene at 12 noon on Thursday, 23 April 2020.
