Ábhair Shaincheisteanna Tráthúla - Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 29A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Fergus O'Dowd and Ged Nash - to discuss the provision of a pop-up Covid test centre in Drogheda, taking into account the significant increased demand on testing that has been evident since July; (2) Deputy Mark Ward -to discuss the Garda Síochána resources to tackle anti-social behaviour impacting on Dublin Bus routes; (3) Deputy Seán Haughey - the release of information provided by Seán MacStiofáin, former member of the IRA army council, to members of an Garda Síochána in respect of the importation of arms during the period 1969-1970; (4) Deputies Paul McAuliffe and Patrick Costello - to discuss the issue of illegally-driven scrambler and quad bikes in Dublin; (5) Deputies Bríd Smith and Paul Murphy - to discuss the ASTI ballot for industrial action over school safety issues and Covid-19; (6) Deputy Dessie Ellis - to discuss the contraction of the grass-cutting service and the halting of the weed killing programme by Dublin City Council; (7) Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin - to discuss what specific supports the Government is providing to protect the 35,000 jobs in the events industry; (8) Deputy Maurice Quinlivan - to discuss current overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick; (9) Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh - to discuss the failure of an Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council to address breaches in public health guidelines at an unauthorised dance party in the Oliver Bond flat complex; (10) Deputy Jackie Cahill - to discuss the development of the TUS programme to ensure its future viability; (11) Deputy Louise O'Reilly - to discuss the suspension of Drug and Alcohol support group meetings in Dublin; (12) Deputy Richard O'Donoghue - to discuss funding for flood defences and future-proofing in non-flood plain areas in County Limerick; (13) Deputy Mick Barry - to discuss the proposed sale of Ulster Bank by its parent company and its potential impact on communities, jobs, services and mortgageholders; (14) Deputy Cathal Crowe - to discuss the proposed amalgamation of schools in Ennistymon, County Clare; (15) Deputy John Lahart - to discuss the relaxation of rules in relation to the presence of partners or spouses of expectant mothers at pregnancy-related appointments and during delivery; (16) Deputy Catherine Connolly - to discuss the closure of the public swimming pool and gym at Leisureland, Galway; (17) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell - to discuss the pyrite remediation process for houses in the Limerick area; (18) Deputy Denis Naughten - to discuss the availability of the winter flu vaccine; (19) Deputy Eoin Ó Broin - to discuss the possible amendment of the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations 1994; (20) Deputy Kathleen Funchion - to discuss the refusal of SUSI applicants due to inadequate documentation; (21) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the failures by Eir to repair faults in a timely fashion, leading to increased isolation and difficulties particularly for elderly customers at a time where telephone communications are hugely important to combat the isolation associated with Covid-19; (22) Deputy Martin Browne - to discuss the need to invest in our young people in light of early life disruption by Covid-19; (23) Deputy Matt Carthy - to discuss the European Commission's REACH committee's adoption of a regulation on the use of lead gunshot; (24) Deputy Jennifer Murnane O'Connor - to discuss updating the DEIS qualification model in light of class size changes due to Covid-19 health measures; (25) Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú - to discuss mental health supports in County Louth following tragedies that have heavily impacted on the community; and (26) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - to discuss the commencement of sections of the Public Health (Alcohol) Bill dealing with minimum unit pricing of alcohol.

The matters raised by Deputies Seán Haughey; Fergus O'Dowd and Ged Nash; Louise O'Reilly; and Mattie McGrath have been selected for discussion.
