JOINT COMMITTEE ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENERGY SECURITY díospóireacht -
Wednesday, 16 Sep 2009

Business of Joint Committee.

What does Deputy McManus need with regard to her proposal on climate change legislation?

I just need a little time. The draft report has been done and I thank members for their contributions to it. Could we have a discussion at the first meeting in October and a final decision by that stage? In the meantime, if people need to consult, we can use that period of time.

I thank the Deputy for her report which is very useful.

I owe a big debt of gratitude to Mr. Peter Brennan.

I have no doubt.

With regard to the other items on the agenda, I will be meeting the new clerk, whom I forgot to welcome. Ms Patricia Doran is replacing Mr. Michael McKenna and I hope she will be very happy with us. I will meet her and our two advisers next week and we will work out a schedule for the next number of meetings. I thank members for their co-operation.

The joint committee adjourned at 2.45 p.m. sine die.
