JOINT COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND SKILLS díospóireacht -

Business of Joint Committee

In regard to meetings, we suggest that we meet to discuss the presentation of the plan this day week, at 9 a.m. on Thursday, 20 January, and that we have our regular meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 27 January when we will discuss FÁS and FETAC. A week later on Wednesday, 2 February we will discuss the Bill and on Thursday, 10 February we will discuss the Hunt report.

As we want to be present in the Dáil at 10.30 a.m for questions to the Taoiseach, we do not want to start at 10 a.m.

I suggest that we meet at 9 a.m. to discuss the plan, we will meet at the usual time of 10 a.m. to discuss FÁS and FETAC .

I suggest 8.30 a.m.

What about people who are travelling?

They can travel early.

Not everybody is in Dublin.

The cafeteria opens at 8.30 a.m.

I do not know where we will have that meeting. I will try to work out an arrangement. We have the standard meeting at 10 a.m. We will meet at noon on Wednesday, 2 February to discuss the Bill. The Deputy may be on the Order of Business, so is that arrangement acceptable to him?

On the following week, we will have our standard meeting at 10 a.m. We are fitting in two meetings between our normal times, to discuss the Bill and plan.

Will the secretariat e-mail the proposals?

We will e-mail members. These are provisional arrangements subject to confirmation, but we will co-ordinate with members. Is that agreed?

Mr. Harold Hislop

May I clarify the dates? I had to turn on my diary. Are we meeting on Thursday, 20 January at 9 a.m. or at 8.30 a.m?

Somewhere between 8.30 a.m. and 9 a.m. depending on whether we get a room. For those who travel, it is 8.45 a.m.

From County Meath?

It is all right for members from Drogheda who stay overnight in Dublin.

The joint committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m until 10 a.m. on Thursday, 27 January 2011.
