The committee is meeting in public session virtually through Microsoft Teams in committee room 4 in Leinster House, with a number of members present in the room as well. Apologies have been received from Senator Flynn and Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan. I congratulate Senator Flynn and Deputies Ó Laoghaire and Pádraig O'Sullivan on the additions to their families over the last number of weeks. Deputy Ó Laoghaire is in attendance, but Senator Flynn and Deputy O'Sullivan are on maternity and parental leave, respectively. We congratulate all of them and hope that everything is going well.
I remind members to ensure that their mobile phones are switched off for the duration of the meeting as they interfere with the broadcasting equipment even if on silent mode. I also remind them of the constitutional requirement that to participate in public meetings they must be physically present within the confines and place in which Parliament has chosen to meet, namely, Leinster House. I will not permit a member to participate if not adhering to the constitutional requirement. Any member who attempts to participate from outside of the precincts of Leinster House will be asked to leave the meeting.
