Messages to Dáil and Seanad

Under Standing Order 87 the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice, annexed to the Treaty on the European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:

Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the right to information in criminal proceedings,

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 26 August 2010.

Under Standing Order 72 the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice, annexed to the Treaty on the European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measure:
