Vol. 1 No. 18

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY (COMPENSATION) BILL, 1923. - THE ELECTORAL BILL.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

Before we adjourn there is a matter I want to mention to the Seanad. The Electoral Bill we considered in Committee here, in which we made certain changes, has come back. After the consideration of our amendments by the Dáil, they have accepted an amendment which was moved, to the best of my recollection, by Senator De Loughry, which involved the insertion in one of the Schedules of a form of ballot paper, but the Dáil for some reason have altered one name in that list of names that were set out in the model ballot paper. The name of the gentleman so distinguished was originally Wilson, William, and the Dáil, in accepting this amendment altered the name to Wilson, Thomas. As they are anxious to have this Bill printed at once, and as the agreement with this amendment of the Dáil is the only obstacle in the way, perhaps before the House adjourns they will agree to take up the consideration of this amendment.

Amendment agreed to.
The Seanad adjourned at 6.45 p.m. until 3 o'clock Friday, April 13th.
