Vol. 1 No. 26

FINANCE BILL, 1923. - INTER-PARLIAMENTARY UNION.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I wish to remind the members of the Seanad that they have received an invitation to meet Dr. Lange, Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union at the Dáil tomorrow at 11.30. I hope as many members of the Seanad as can conveniently do so will avail themselves of the invitation because undoubtedly the subject that this distinguished Norwegian will deal with is one which may very closely affect us, and have a very important interest for us. Before the Seanad adjourns I would like to mention that to-morrow we will take the concluding stages of this Finance Bill.

I beg to move the adjournment. I do not know in whose hands are the arrangements regarding the Press. Apart from the fact that many excellent speeches have remained unreported to-day, I think it is a very undesirable state of affairs to find representatives of the Press on strike for want of proper accommodation. Most people will agree that they have had some cause for complaint. I do not know in whose hands it lies, but I think it is desirable that the matter should be considered with a view to trying to overcome the difficulty.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

Who seconds the adjournment motion?

I do.

The Seanad adjourned at 5.5 p.m. until 3 o'clock on Thursday, June 14th.
