The first business upon the Order Paper is the Report of the Committee appointed to consider the question raised by Amendment 39 to the Courts of Justice Bill, 1923. As this Report is one of most vital importance as regards the powers and position of the Seanad, I would like that we should have had a fuller House for the purpose of receiving and discussing it. At the same time, as it is on the Order Paper, I think it is better we should proceed with it, but as one or two Senators may arrive in a short interval we might perhaps dispose of No. 2 which is the Second Stage of the Public Safety (Punishment of Offences) Temporary Bill, 1924.
