Vol. 3 No. 1

PUBLIC BUSINESS. - SECOND REPORT OF THE STANDING COMMITTEE ON STANDING ORDERS.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

This Report was circulated and was in the hands of Senators in March last. It proposes a few changes in the existing Standing Orders, none of them on any matter of great vital importance, but such as in the opinion of the Committee would be an improvement on the present form.

I beg formally to move the adoption of the Report.

I beg to second the motion.

Question put and agreed to.

I take it that all these alterations and changes will be sent in some form to members of the Seanad, who have got books containing the Standing Orders.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I think the best thing that Senators could do would be to get an inter-leaved copy of the Standing Orders and put in the additions as they are made from time to time. I have had inter-leaved copies supplied to a limited extent, and if any Senator wishes for a copy the Clerk or Assistant Clerk will see that he is provided with it.

Will they be issued in the form of slips, so they can be inserted in the book?

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I will give directions that that should be done.
