BETTING BILL, 1926—REPORT STAGE.

CATHAOIRLEACH

There are two amendments, both Government amendments, down for consideration on this Bill. They are framed for the purpose of giving effect to promises made by the Minister for Finance on the Committee Stage.

Amendment 1. Section 4, before the words "any Act" in line 33, to insert the words "had since the commencement of this Act been convicted of an offence under."

Amendment put and agreed to.
Amendment 2. Section 30, to add at the end of the section the words "and shall continue in force for two years from that date and shall then expire."
Amendment put and agreed to.

I move the motion standing in my name:—

"That the Standing Orders be suspended for the purpose of enabling the remaining stage of the Betting Bill, 1926, to be taken to-day."

Question put and agreed to.
Question—"That the Bill be received for final consideration and do now pass"—put and agreed to.
