Vol. 15 No. 1

Order of Business.

Cathaoirleach

I have been informed that it is improbable that the Minister for Industry and Commerce will be back this evening. Therefore I take it we will have to adjourn the Merchandise Marks Bill and the Mines and Minerals Bill until to-morrow for the attendance of the Minister.

It is doubtful whether I shall be able to attend to-morrow, and while I do not want to make a personal appeal, there are certain things in connection with the Merchandise Marks Bill that I would like to deal with this evening if it is in order to open now the Second Reading debate. Perhaps if I were allowed to make a statement the Second Reading debate could then be adjourned.

I am anxious to know if the Committee Stage of the Mines and Minerals Bill will be taken to-morrow.

Cathaoirleach

I hope it will, Senator.

I suggest that the Second Reading debate on the Merchandise Marks Bill be opened by Senator Connolly this evening, after which the debate could be adjourned for the attendance of the Minister to-morrow.

Agreed.
