I move the amendment on the Order Paper (Government amendment) as follows:—
Section 1. To delete in lines 17-18 the words "in which members of the public actively participate" and to substitute therefor the words "which is open to the public and in which persons present are entitled to participate actively."
On the Second Stage of the Bill, Senator Comyn drew attention to the definition in Section 1 and suggested that it might be reconsidered. The matter has been discussed with the Parliamentary draftsman and a suitable amendment prepared in the terms set out. It is thought that this new definition will meet the view expressed and, perhaps, be clearer than the original definition.
