Senator Comyn's cesser of membership also causes a vacancy in the office of Leas-Chathaoirleach. Under Standing Order No. 10, it is necessary for the House to make an order fixing a date for the election to fill such vacancy. I would suggest that the House fix this day fortnight, the 11th March, to be the date for the election, in which case nominations must be received by the clerk not later than 4 p.m. on Friday, the 6th March.
