Vol. 23 No. 2

Order of Business.

There is one change proposed in the Order of Business for to-day. It would convenience the Minister for Defence if item No. 6— the Air Raid Precautions Bill—were taken after item No. 1. If that rearrangement be agreed to, the order of business for to-day will be Nos. 1, 6, 2, 3, 4, 5. I have given permission to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance to attend and be heard on the Second Stage of the Appropriation Bill.

If item No. 1 be not concluded by 6 o'clock, would it not be well to take No. 6 at 6 o'clock in order to give a break to the Minister in charge of that particular Bill?

It is not for me to order the business of the House, but I was hoping that we might be able to dispose of item No. 1 somewhat expeditiously in order that I might be able to resume on the motion under discussion in the Dáil.

Has not the Minister spoken on the motion in the Dáil?

I had begun to speak.

I understand the Minister began only under duress, so that the fault is his own.

I was waiting to hear some arguments.

The Minister can stay here and listen to the arguments.

I take it that there is agreement as to the order of business.

Agreed.
