Vol. 23 No. 3

Death of a Senator.

It is with very deep regret that I announce to the House the death, on the 9th July, of Senator Thomas W. Delany.

Senator Delany was only a short time associated with us in the work of the Oireachtas, and, unfortunately, owing to illness was unable to be present on many occasions in the Seanad. But during our acquaintance with him I think I can say, on behalf of all members of the House, that we found him at all times courteous and helpful. His death will be a loss to the public life of his native county, and to the professional organisations with which he was so prominently and actively associated.

With the assent of the House I shall convey to the widow and to the relatives of the deceased Senator the expression of our sincere sympathy. Would Senators be good enough to signalise their assent by rising in their places?

All Senators rose in their places.
