Vol. 42 No. 5

Order of Business.

There was to be a statement made at this stage as regards the probability of business, if Senator Hearne is now in a position to make it.

In reply to a question put by Senator Hayes this afternoon, it seems now that the following will be the order of business for the rest of the session. The Finance Bill—it is hoped that all the stages of the Finance Bill will be taken and completed this day week. The Courts of Justice Bill, 1953, is expected from the Dáil also. The Army Pensions Bill, 1953, is also expected. The Comptroller and Auditor-General (Amendment) Bill, 1952, is also expected, and the Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Bill, 1953, the State Guarantees Bill, 1952, the Consular Conventions Bill, 1953, and the Appropriations Bill, or an equivalent measure in the event of the Estimates not being passed by the Dáil by the 31st of this month, will also come before the House. It is hoped that the Health Bill, 1952, will be received by this House from the Dáil, and it is also hoped that the Second Reading of it will be concluded before the Seanad adjourns for the Summer Recess.

When does the Senator suggest we are going to adjourn?

I said in reply to a similar question some time ago: "Sin ceist eile."

A six marker it is.
