Vol. 124 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Mary Jackman that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to immediately provide temporary accommodation for the pupils of Richill National School, Lisnagry, County Limerick, so that they can avail of their constitutional right to education.

I also received notice from Senator Pat Upton of the following matter:

The discontinuation of grants for smokeless heating conversions by virtue of the Government's refusal to make any further special control area orders with particular reference to the Crumlin, Drimnagh and Bluebell areas of Dublin.

I also received notice from Senator Dan Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Labour to intervene in the industrial relations dispute, which is threatening the survival of 120 full-time and 180 part-time jobs at a meat plant (details submitted) and the need for the Minister to make a statement on the matter.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Jackman, Upton and Neville as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Jackman's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Upton and Neville may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
