AN SCEIDEAL
1. Is é atá beartaithe leis an mBille um an Séú Leasú Déag ar an mBunreacht, 1996, an fo-alt seo a leanas a chur le halt 4 d'Airteagal 40 den Bhunreacht:
"7º Féadfar socrú a dhéanamh le dlí chun go bhféadfaidh cúirt bannaí a dhiúltú do dhuine atá cúisithe i gcion tromaí sa chás go measfar le réasún é a bheith riachtanach chun an duine sin a chosc ar chion tromaí a dhéanamh.".
2. MÁ THOILÍONN TÚ leis an togra, cuir X os coinne an fhocail TÁ ar an bpáipéar ballóide.
3. MURA dTOILÍONN TÚ leis an togra, cuir X os coinne an fhocail NÍL ar an bpáipéar ballóide.

I move:
That the statement set out in the Schedule to this Resolution be prescribed for the information of voters pursuant to section 23 of the Referendum Act, 1994 (No. 12 of 1994), in relation to the proposal to amend Article 40 of the Constitution which is contained in the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 1996.
SCHEDULE
1. The Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 1996 proposes to add the following subsection to section 4 of Article 40 of the Constitution:
"7º Provision may be made by law for the refusal of bail by a court to a person charged with a serious offence where it is reasonably considered necessary to prevent the commission of a serious offence by that person.".
2. IF YOU APPROVE of the proposal, mark X opposite the word YES on the ballot paper.
3. IF YOU DO NOT APPROVE of the proposal, mark X opposite the word NO on the ballot paper.
4. A copy of the Bill can be inspected or obtained free of charge at any Post Office.
