Vol. 154 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Ridge that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to take immediate steps to ensure that young childen are not endangered when accompanying their parents or guardians who are selling The Big Issues magazine at major traffic intersections in Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Ó Murchú of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to give favourable consideration to the request of the County Tipperary Historical Society to take into State care the listed national monument known as the Warhouse, Farrenrory, Ballingarry, Thurles, County Tipperary; 29 July 1998 marks the 150th anniversary of the Young Ireland rebellion which culminated in this building, also known as the Widow McCormack's house.

I have also received notice from Senator Avril Doyle of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to address the need for additional accommodation at St. Margaret's national school, Curracloe, County Wexford.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to install an upgraded sewerage system in Kilkee for environmental and public health reasons and particularly in view of the expansion currently taking place under the holiday resort scheme, and the increased population over the tourist season.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ridge and Ó Murchú as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Doyle and Taylor-Quinn may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
