Vol. 155 No. 24

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Environment and Local Government to consider the co-funding of public works projects on a basis that would allow the tendering process to take into account the full cost of the project to the community.

I have also received notice from Senator Tom Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to make funding available on a once off basis to allow for the restoration of Fethard Abbey, County Tipperary.

I have also received notice from Senator Chambers of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to ask Údarás na Gaeltachta to make a specific effort to encourage the creation of new jobs in the Achill area to undo the continuous trend of job loss that is happening in that particular part of County Mayo.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide a second teacher at Curraghroe national school, County Roscommon.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Quinn's and Hayes's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Chambers and Finneran may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
