Vol. 157 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Norris that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to ensure that school buses are required to be provided with seat belts.

I have also received notice from Senator Gallagher of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to give greater recognition to substitute teachers who have given long service to the primary education system in Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to direct the local authority to issue a special amenity order for the Tolka valley.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Norris's and Gallagher's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Costello may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
