Seanad Éireann díospóireacht -
Wednesday, 9 Dec 1998

Vol. 157 No. 13

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to direct the local authority to issue a special amenity order for the Tolka valley.

I have also received notice from Senator Jackman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to establish a Garda station in Castletroy, County Limerick, in view of the expanding population in the area and the need for a Garda presence based in the area.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to approve the Terryglass sewerage scheme as part of the Lough Derg submission for EU funds in order to ensure that the badly needed scheme begins in 1999.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senator Costello and Senator Jackman and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator O'Meara may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
