Vol. 162 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Coogan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to outline the position in relation to a proposal to introduce commercial rates on B&Bs, given the disastrous consequences that such a proposal could have on this seasonal business.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to call on Iarnród Éireann to address the safety concerns at the level railway crossing at Slieve, Donamon, County Roscommon.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Coogan as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule Senator Finneran's matter out of order as the Minister has no official responsibility in this matter. This is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann.
