Vol. 174 No. 21

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Ulick Burke that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to establish an independent inquiry into the pollution of the Owendullagh river at Derrybrien, Loughrea, County Galway; and if funding will be made available to Galway County Council for costs incurred due to pollution and to provide for restocking of fish in the river and lake at Lough Cutra, Gort, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator McHugh of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Education and Science to outline what plans are envisaged in relation to St. Mura's national school, Buncrana, County Donegal, and Monreagh national school, Carrigan, County Donegal with regard to the provision of new buildings.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to consider an application from the STAY Project in Tallaght, which is attempting to build on an existing youth diversionary programme, when he will be in a position to respond positively to this application and to make a statement on the matter.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
