Vol. 184 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator White that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children to outline why a general practitioner (details supplied), will not be allowed to treat her 500 medical card patients when she turns 70 in August this year, and the plans she has to rectify this ageist discrimination.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children to make a statement on the lack of payment for physiotherapy students on work placements, despite the valuable work undertaken by them and the payments made to trainee nurses in similar circumstances.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
