Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Morrissey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to give a report on his ongoing discussions with councils regarding their continued insistence on including conditions for the establishment of management companies in estates.

I have also received notice from Senator McHugh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the progress of the Irish Nurses Organisation's eight claims before the Labour Court.

I have also received notice from Senator McCarthy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the progress of the long overdue extension to Clonakilty community college, and when she expects her Department to sanction the necessary works.

I have also received notice from Senator Dooley of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to examine the feasibility study for the construction of a river crossing at Killaloe, County Clare, and an associated bypass of Killaloe.

I have also received notice from SenatorCummins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the current status of the application by Waterford Institute of Technology to attain university status; the steps necessary to achieving same and the timescale envisaged.

I have also received notice from Senator Browne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to indicate the progress being made on two applications to her Department from scoil náisiúnta Molaise, Old Leighlin, County Carlow, one under the permanent accommodation scheme 2007 and the other under grant aid for major works.

I also have notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to provide an update on the current status of the application made by Mac Eoin Park residents' association, Longford, for funding under the programme of grants for locally based community and voluntary organisations.

I have also received notice from Senator Kitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to indicate if there are proposals to have generic drugs available in Ireland similar to other European countries.

I have also received notice from Senator Coghlan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to address the long promised delivery of the 14-bed extension to Kenmare Hospital, County Kerry, given that this extension was a priority for the Southern Health Board in 1999-2000 but has not since been prioritised.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Morrissey, McHugh and McCarthy and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
