I have received notice from Senator Frances Fitzgerald that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:
the need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the action she is taking to restore confidence to the system producing cervical smear tests following the revelation that a number of such tests which were sent to the US for analysis had to be further reviewed when discrepancies and errors in the results came to light; and the action she intends to take to ensure that patients can have absolute confidence in the tests and their results.
I also received notice from Senator Dominic Hannigan on the following matter:
the need for the Minister for Transport and the Marine to instigate procedures whereby train station car parks are included within the Minister's regulatory powers.
I also received notice from Senator Paschal Donohoe on the following matter:
the need for the Minister for Transport and the Marine, in relation to the Metro North, which is the largest infrastructure project in the history of the State to confirm the proposed cost and to make public the cost benefit analysis of this project.
I also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:
the need for the Minister for Finance to give an update in relation to the site acquired in a location (details supplied) and the current status of each of its three constituent parts.
I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected the matters raised by Senators Fitzgerald, Hannigan and Donohoe. They will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Keaveney may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
